My craft room has seen some action!!!

Well I have managed to get an hour each day in my craft room and it's been great to take my mind of things.

I have been having a play with my promarker pens and I love them, they just are fantastic.

Well as promised here are some more pics of our little man, these were all taken in July. We're off to get him weighed tomorrow as he is putting on weight as a great speed, he was 17lbs 1oz when he was 14 weeks and I think he will be out of his 3-6 month clothes in the next couple of weeks. Seems strange to think that he will only be 4 months or 17 weeks on Monday, can't remember life without him :o)

After so long away from my blog I thought I would come back and start updating and getting back into my card making, as I really need something to take my mind off the last few months.

Anyone who has followed my blog might remember that I have mentioned my mum's battle with cancer over the last 12 years. When I got engaged 3 years ago her non-hodgkins lymphoma returned for a 3rd time and she started treatment again. They tried stem cell treatment just after I got married, but 18 months ago she was told that they couldn't get enough stem cells to make this an option. She was still having a 3 monthly treatment to try to keep the non-hodgkins at bay and this looked like it was working.

About a month after Harry was born mum started complaining of a pain in her legs and they started to swell slightly. After a couple of blood tests and her doctor ruling out a DVT, he suggested she went to her specialist at Christies to check it wasn't related to the non-hodgkins.

Although this was ruled out, she was referred to a bone marrow specialist and at the end of May we got the terrible news that she was now suffering from Acute myeloid leukemia. She entered Christies at the beginning of June to start 10 days of continual chemo, but unfortunately the treatment was not successful. She after contracting a chest infection near the beginning of her treatment that developed into pneumonia and she no longer had any immune system to fight it.

On Saturday 27th June she passed away at the age of 60 with my dad, brother and myself at her side. This was 2 days before my 2nd wedding anniversary and 12 weeks after Harry arrived, the grandchild she was so looking forward to having.

To say I am finding it hard to cope is an understatement, especially having my baby and not having my mum to turn to for advise, but I have started to get back into my craftroom and potter about. I'm finding it such a help just to lose myself for a short time in my hobby and my hubby has been great allowing me some time to craft.

I'm hoping to start being brave enough to start showing my cards again, I have lost all my confidence with them as it's been so long!! Hopefully I can catch back up with all the new products, as everything moves so fast, although I am already building up my promarker collection and have been lucky to get the Miss Anya and Rain, Snow Shine sets from Tracey at Dies to Die for.

Hopefully I might be brave tomorrow and also show off some more pics of my gorgeous little boy.

Introducing Harrison Jake Deeney

After making his mummy and daddy wait 12 days from his due date, Harrison Jake Deeney at last put in an appearance on Monday 6th April at 5.46 am weighing in at 8lb 9 ozs!!!!!

I won't give you the birth story as it was a bit of a nightmare, but after 2 weeks I was able to sit down again which was fantastic.

He is absolutely gorgeous and after 2 weeks of sleepless nights and worrying he might have colic, he is settling into a bit of a routine. I can't believe how much time they take up and struggle to sometimes eat lunch and no matter how quickly I shower he always seems to be crying by the time I get out.

I'm not sure that I will be seeing much of my craft room for quite a while (I hate to admit it but I have ended up buying my thank you notes!), I'm hoping that in the next few months I might get a bit of time to venture back in there!!

Blimey I can't believe how long it is since I posted last, so much has happened in the last 3 months that I have hardly had time to do any crafting or the want to sit down and create. I've had a few messages asking how I was so I thought I better post incase you thought I'd dropped off the planet :o)

We have been decorating like mad to get the house sorted before baby and have done everythere apart from our bedroom, this meant that we had to move in with my parents for a few weeks whilst our new bathroom was fitted and all my craft stuff had to be packed away whilst I was relocated to the old dining room. Thankfully all of the things we have been storing in the old dining room whilst we decorated have gone and I have now got a new craft room, although it is still not quite finished. Only problem now is that my bump is so large that I am struggling to get too close to my desk and grab things from round the room!!!!

At the time of typing we are still waiting for our baby to arrive, I am now 3 days overdue and so frustrated. I'm getting asked all the time how I'm feeling and if anything is happening and there is nothing to tell. Just hoping that it's not much longer to waiting now as I'm getting too scared to leave the house on my own incase something happens!!!!

I have managed to make a few cards in the last few days and hopefully if I can get a few good pictures tomorrow (and our baby hasn't made an appearance) I will add them to my blog.

It's been 2 months since I last posted, so I'm not sure if anyone is still out there!!! Just in case, MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all. Special thanks to Natty K, Michelle and Tracy for the gorgeous cards and Tracy for the lovely chocs.

The last couple of months have been very tricky and crafting has been the last thing on my mind, but I am hoping that in January I can get back into the swing of things. Work has been hectic, as we were taken over in a hostile takeover bid, but everything has worked out exactly as my hubby and I wanted and the best for our little family. My gran has also been ill in the last couple of months and we have now found out that its cancer and there is nothing they can do due to her age, it's just a waiting game now. I've also had a little scare with the baby, but everything is fine and then to top it all I'm just recovering from the Winter Vomiting bug!!!

I hardly dare admit it, but I've hardly made any Christmas cards this year, as my heart just hasn't been in it, but I have just been checking my list of fav blogs and there are some fantastic cards on them.

I shall be finishing work on 16th January, so I have 8 weeks before baby is due to relax and I am planning on finding the crafting bug when I tidy up after Christmas!!!

Although, I am not buying any Christmas papers or embellishments, I have hardly any ribbons, so this little pack of 25 different ribbons also feel into my shopping :o)

I really struggled on Saturday night to get to sleep, so at 12 o'clock I decided to get up and have a little play in my craft room!!! I've had this Dawn Bibby paper for years and the Christmas trees and script paper were in a little kit I got the other year. Not the best of pics, but all the shiny surfaces made it a bit tricky :o)

Secret Sister Reveal

I am useless at the moment, I keep forgetting to do things or think I have already done them!!!! Hopefully this will improve before baby arrives, otherwise I'll be coming home and forgetting the little one.

The lovely Michelle at Card Grotto organised a Secret Sister and now is the time to reveal who our Secret Sister was. Although I know this won't come as a surprise to the lady, as I stamped my card with my name and forgot is was meant to be Secret!!! Anyway I sent my goodies to Gina at The Card Kabin. I didn't think to take a picture of the goodies before I sent them so you can find a pic on Gina's blog here.

I also got a lovely card and goodies off my Secret Sister and I had guessed from the style of the card who it was from!! Thanks Julie, you are right I do love my Penny Blacks!

Well not managed too many cards this week, seem to have more energy now, but Matt finished his law degree exams on Monday so I've been spending time most evening with him. It's a bit strange spending so much time with him, as the last month he has been studying every evening and all weekend!!!!! Hopefully in 3 weeks time I will know if we are having a little boy or girl, Miss Organised here can't bear not knowing as I want to start decorating the room and getting things sorted.

I love the new Forever Friends stamps and Gina kindly sent me some images as I am meant to be saving for the baby, esp as my job is uncertain as our company was bought in a hostile takeover! The only problem is after using these today, I have fallen even more in love with them. Blimey I am hopeless at this blogging lark lately and my card making has been just the same lately, although I have had the urge tonight to get into my craft room!!!!

Everything is very hectic with me at the moment, now over 15 weeks pregnant and I have my second mid wife app tom! Hope to hear babies heart beat, as it seems ages since we had our scan. Work is still up in the air, but I am now a point of contact between both sales team, so my work load had gone mad, although whilst I'm doing this I know I'll have a job :o)

Anyway I just want to say thanks to Michelle at Card Grotto for the lovely card below, check out her blog as the picture on there is miles better.

Also, Michelle organised a Secret Sister swap and this is the lovely card that I received and the goodies. Can't wait to have a play, so huge hugs to my sista xx

This weeks challenge at Papertake Weekly is Autumn Haze, anything to do with Autumn. Struggled with this as I have no stamps that I thought would fit or any papers in the right colours. Then I found a kit from Silver Hat last year and I thought the flowers and ribbon were perfect. Its a very simple design, bit I wanted the flowers to speak for themselves (plus I think I was getting a bit tired by this point on Wed night!)

How long since I've posted!!!

Blimey I really can't believe how long it is since I have posted or sat down to make a card. Still no card making going on, but I'm hoping that I'll be back in the swing of things shortly. I thought I would let you all know why I have been so absent lately and not had any mojo for crafting (even thought of selling my stash on ebay but realised I was being a bit drastic).

Well I'm 3 months pregnant!!!! We're really excited and although I have been really lucky and had no morning sickness, I have been exhausted after a days work that I'm in bed by 9! My weekend afternoons when I used to craft have been replaced with an afternoon nap. Everyone tells me the next 3 months you get your energy back, so hopefully I can get back to normal a bit.

I've just been having a quick look round all my favourite blogs and I can't believe what I have been missing out on. I am loving the Forever Friend stamps and papers and the new Elzybell stamps. Not sure when I will be treating myself to new crafting goodies though, as the company I work for had just had a hostile takeover and I'm someone who automatically thinks the worse will happen!

It seems ages since I've had an desire to make a card, but I think I have realised why I lost my mojo. I've always done quiet simple cards and always stuck with the less is more moto!!! I think with all the fantastic blogs around and the talented card makers I started to doubt how good my own cards were against their creations. Decided to go back to my old style, they might not be the most imagitive cards, but the ones that I enjoy making the most.

My brother asked if I could make a christening card for one of the girls he works with, using a picture of the twins. She wanted a large A5 card and the little girls names on it and this is what I came up with.

Blimey I can't believe that I added these pictures and didn't even write anything, how rude of me!!!!

I was asked to make a few cards for a lady that I used to work with, a wedding card in a M&S style of card, a 60th for a lady who likes flowers and a 60th for a lady who like gardening.

Hoping this week will be more productive for crafting, our lives have gone a bit hectic lately and I'm really finding it hard to find the time. Going to give a challenge a go tonight when I get home from work!

Unfortunately they didn't realise how amazingly talented Michelle was and neither of our cards were selected (not surprised with mine!!). I was going to boycott the mag, but it's one of my favs so that idea quickly passed :o)

The challenge at Penny Black Saturday was a colour combo of brown, pink and green (subtle hints of green on mine), Papertake Weekly was to make a Thank You card and Friday Sketchers was obviously a sketch :o)

Happy Anniversary

It was my first wedding anniversary yesterday and this is the card that I made my hubby. I used a picture from the wedding, as I really wanted it to be personal to us.

Can't believe that it was a year ago, some ways it seems ages ago since I was a bride and in other ways it seems to have past so quickly! At least we've made it with no-one getting injured or falling out :o)

Cute Card Thursday & Dutch Dare

I've combined todays Cute Card Thursday and Dutch Dare challenge into one card.

The challenge at Cute Card Thursday is to make a card using no shop bought patterned paper, but you can make your own!!! I used versamark with a baby footprint stamp to create a watermark effect and embossed the yellow card.

The challenge at Dutch Dare is to use 3 ribbons and 3 buttons.

The picture isn't great, so I'll try and get a better one tomorrow.

I nipped into my local Craft Central as I had run out of envelopes and there is a sales starting tomorrow and they'd started to put things out for it. I bought there DCWV stacks for £3 each, what a bargain, also popped in some of the 99p alphabet stamps.

I've made this card for one of my blogging buddies birthday's, I got this image in a swap and it's a great image that I thought it was perfect without any colour!

My hubby asked if I could make a large card for him and his work colleagues to send to a girl that used to work with them. They had just found out that she had collapsed at her new job and had been in a coma, but she is on the mend now. He wants to sent her a thinking of you card from her old work colleagues.

She's loves her nights out and I thought this bella suited her and the brad in the middle of the flower say Having Fun, which we always do. Been a busy girl

Well I have had a lovely crafty day and decided to leave the housework til tomorrow as I was enjoying myself so much!!!!

The first card is for my mum to sent to my uncle for his birthday. They live in North Carolina, USA and when he retired they bought a ranch and started breeding Arab horse so we thought this image was perfect.

This card is from me and hubby for my dad and I decided to also go with a golf theme. I made a new years resolution to use up my huge stash of embellishment, since I got bitten by the stamping bug they have just sat doing nothing!! These felt golfing stickers were from MEI Flower and were only about 50p for the pack!

The last card I was asked to do for a lady that I used to work with and who goes to the same church as mum & dad. She texted me on Friday and asked if I could make a 80th birthday card and I just presumed it would be for a lady. When she said it was for a retired farmer called Bill and could I do cows or tractors I did panic a bit. Then I remember I had the tractor and cow quickutz die and this is what I came up with. The tractor hasn't been stuck down wrong, but is meant to be coming down the hill!! Just hope Bill likes it.

Blimey with the lovely weather yesterday I didn't get time to add a pic of the goodies i received from The Glitter Pot that I treated myself to.

I also received a lovely Thank You card from Marshall, Jool's son. I sent him some stickers and other things that I didn't use anymore, so he could add them to his crafting stash. Thanks Marshall, it's lovely and now has pride of place on our mantlepiece.

Well I am back, finally managed to get internet connection this morning on our laptop so I could upload my card for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge. Well it was another great post day for me when I got home from work and even better on the way into work.

I had a little note from the PO to say I had a parcel that was too big and I went to pick it up as I pass on the way to work. Inside the parcel was this gorgeous card from Michelle at Card Grotto, my blog candy that I won and also a couple of pressies for my birthday. I got a lovely selection of ribbons and a tin cannister over spilling with flowers.

I also got this lovely card from Hannah at Hans Crafty Creations and also Han came to my rescue and stamped me some images of the stamp I was looking for, as well as some other lovely images.

Does anyone have this stamp and would be willing to do me a couple of images in exchange for any of my stamps?

A lady at work had seen a card I'd made with this image on my blog and she really wanted it as its perfect for her friends 40th. No problem I said, as I knew I hadn't used the card, but when I got home no card in my box, pretty sure my mum has had this one!

I got the image in a swap, but I can't remember who it was with and I wondered if anyone had this stamp or anything similar. She said that she wanted quite a sophisticated card, so no cute Penny Black hedgies then :o)

Well maybe not until the 19th May, but it felt like it tonight when I got home from work. I treated myself to a few magnolias whilst The Glitter Pot had free P&P this weekend, so I will be using my birthday money towards these!

I also got this lovely thank you card from Pam for winning my candy. Thanks Pam, it's a gorgeous card and it's up in my craft room now!

I also got loads and I mean loads of images from Andrea and I am so looking forward to using them. Thank you so much Andrea, it must have taken you ages to stamp all these.

Keely's Birthday Card

It's my friend Keely's birthday on Tuesday and this is the card that I've made her. She's not really into anything to over the top so I keep the layout very simple.

We went out last night for her birthday for a meal and a few drinks and I ended up getting home at 2.30 this morning. Really surprised when I woke up this morning feeling fine! Had a great evening with all the girls and it was nice to let my hair down.
