Kitty is have a Blog Candy Giveaway to celebrate having 5000 hits.
All you have to do is design a card using the following elements - A Stamp/s, Patterned Paper/s, Flowers/Blooms & Jewels.
I made this card for my mum who is currently undergoing hospital treatment and had to go back into the hospital on Sunday as her treatment was making her really sick. I though this might cheer her up.
I used my Flowahbella from First Class Crafts and coloured with Marvy Le Plume pens. I also used Mum paper from DCWV, Prima flowers and a Papermania jewel brad.
I still a bit nervous about being too adventurous and I'm unsure about the finished result. Doesn't help when our camera's rubbish (I'm sticking to that excuse!)

Penny Black Christmas
I got the Penny Black Critters set and I love this one with the Hedgehogs on the sleigh. I used my marvy le plume pens to watercolour the image and mounted it onto a piece of white card embossed with my Cuttlebug snowflake folder. The paper was left over from last year and I'm not sure who it's by!!!!!
5th Christmas Card for Just Bex challenge
Finally finished my 5th card for the challenge. Used a christmas tree embellishment that I got from Let's Make Cards first issue and glittered up the tinsel and baubles with Stickles. Then used some paper from last years DCWV christmas stack on the inside of the card, a little Merry Christmas banner and 3 red square stones to finish it off

4th Christmas Card for Just Bex challenge
2nd Christmas Card for Just Bex challenge
Just Bex Friday night challenge
The challenge was to make 5 Christmas cards featuring Christmas Trees - any shape, any style, any kind of tree! Thought this would be easy, until I got all by Christmas bits and bobs from last year and realised that I didn't really have that much Christmas tree things!!!!
I've managed 4 so far and I going to finish the 5th tomorrow
I'm not happy with this one using an old Dawn Bibby kit to be honest. I really don't like any of it and I've still got loads of the kit to use!!!!
First Christmas card!
Saturday, 22 September 2007
I decided to have another go at the DCM's mid week challenge.
This time we are giving you just One Word as the inspiration for your card making and that word is GOLDEN You can use the word in any way you like - the word itself doesn't even have to be on the card, for instance you could make a card in golden shades, or maybe inspired by the seasons of Spring or Autumn which both feature lots of golden colours. Or maybe you could make a card to celebrate a Golden Anniversary, and of course Gold is a great colour for Christmas cards.....It's up to you - just go for Gold
I used this cute little Penny Black stamp and also papermania paper to make a golden yellow card (hope this counts)!!!

Handbags, handbags and more handmags
I was asked to make a card with handbags that wasn't too girlie in colour!!!! I decided to use the black and pink checked ribbon from DCWV and I thought using black would not make it too girlie. Nearly love pink and black as much as red and black now.
Was really lucky with the ribbons as I got them at the QVC outlet shop and they worked out less than £2 a pack instead of £5 in the craft shops. I love a bargain.

A Muse Art Stamps
I've been asked where I get my A Muse Art stamps and I am lucky enough that 2 local craft shops stock these, although it is limited and it is just good luck if they have one I want.
The shops that I have bought these from are www.crabapplecrafts.co.uk and www.crimsoncrafts.co.uk

DCM Card Challenge
Well this is a first for me, as I have never dared do one of these challenges before!!!
This week I dare you to use a Word as the main focal point to your card. It can be a name, a greeting or just a word that inspires you. You can use other text but only one word as a main embellishment. So dig out your dictionaries, die cutters, alphabet stamps, rubons or download a funky font and show us what you can do! The design team have come up with some fabulous creations to inpsire you.
I needed to do a thank you card, so I decided to do it for the challenge on DCM. I used my sizzix paddle punch for the flowers and then used a bright pink insert and stuck light pink buttons in the centre of each flower. I then used my Sizzix Girls are Weird alphabet for the thanks and finished it with some ribbon tied around the seam of the card.

First card in ages
I have made my first cards in ages, well not strictly true as I've just spent the last couple of weeks making 157 wedding cards for a friend. It was lovely just to play with things and not feel like I was on a crafting conveyer belt!!!
I was asked to make a christening card for a boy, so I thougth that I would use my new Quickutz stork die.

Crafting goodies
It's been a great week as I've treated myself to some goodies. I bought a round circle punch to go with my scalloped one from Arty Miss and also 4 Stamping Bellas from First Class Crafts.

I now have pics uploaded!!!!!
I have managed to upload all my pictures of cards that I have made in the past. Big thanks to Michelle (Card Grotto) for explaining how to do this. A lot of these cards we made when I first started card making, but I thought it was nice to have a record of them.
Trying to talk hubby into getting a good digital camera though, so I can take pictures of all my future creations!!!!! Think I might have nearly broken him down.
Just in the middle of making 157 wedding invites for my friend from work. Seemed a great idea to say I would help, but now just want to get them finished and have a play with my goodies that I bought at the Create & Stitch show in Manchester last Sat. Got the Penny Black Critters and also little snowy to make a start on my Christmas cards and some of the gorgeous Dovecraft paper packs (these really are the best bargain).
Also been to my local Do Crafts shop and they have the most gorgeous ribbon packs, there are 4 new ones on offer so will have to buy them all. Just need to start using them, instead of just getting them out and looking at them when I'm crafting!!!!
