Hans Blog Candy

Han has a fantastic blog candy over on her blog, http://hanscraftycreations.blogspot.com/, she also does some stunning cards. The challenge was to make a mothers day card and matching tag.

I've seen loads of concertina tags, but it took a couple of goes before I got it right!!!! The tag was cut with the traditional Super tag die on my big shot, I've then covered it with this lovely checked paper from the Aspen range from Karen Neuburger. I then cut out the MUM from flowery paper from the same range of Aspen paper, plant pots out of blue card and fixed them together with wire. I then added blue chiffon ribbon to each tag.

I also made a smaller traditional tag from the same paper and cut our MUM in blue card and added thinner chiffon ribbon.

Daring Card Makers - Red & White

The challenge over on Daring Card Makers is to design a card using only RED AND WHITE on your cards- it doesn't have to be a Valentine themed card - it can be any theme- as long as use incorporate RED and WHITE on it.

I've been asked to make a birthday card for a lady who will be 100, but as she doesn't have much sight left I was asked to make something that she would be able to feel. She is also Welsh, so I have had a verse that I have printed for the insert and I was also asked to put happy birthday in Welsh on the front of the card.

I have covered the bottom half of the card with paper from Pink Petticoat and added a strip of paper across the top. I've used my favourite Sizzix die, the daisies as I thought she would feel the outline of the flowers and I've also used some glitter card to give it some texture, then added a gem to finish. The 100 has been cut out with my Cricut and I've printed out Happy Birthday in Welsh and mounted onto red card and added to the bottom right hand corner.

Kim's Blog Candy

Kim at Simply Fairies is having a blog candy giveaway. 'So here's the deal, if you would like to enter for this, I would like ya's to make a card for any birthday occassion, BUT this must be a completely new card that you make and not attached to any other blog challenge...'

I was asked by my hubby to make a music/guitar themed card for a lady he works with for her boyfriends 60th birthday. I mounted a strip of brown card down the centre of a cream square card. I then mounted a vellum sheet if music notes onto cream card with brown brads and added onto the brown card. I cut out a Ellison thin cut guitar and mounted this onto the velum square and added his name above and 6o below. I added happy birthday peel offs and brown musical notes cut with the small sizzix die.

Had this sheet of vellum rectangles for ages, which I had been given and never known what to do, but I'm really pleased with how this has turned out. Just hope Brian is :o)

Happy 21st Birthday

I was asked to make a 21st Birthday card by one of our sales guys for his girlfriend. I don't know her and he didn't really give my any ideas so I decided to use my trusty Ellison Champagne bottle.

I covered the bottom of an A5 card with Doodlebug paper and added ribbon to the top. I then cut out the champagne bottle and cork from silver and gold mirri card and added wire to the top of the bottle. I curved a couple of congratulation peel offs along the wire and added some silver stars. I added her name to the ribbon and some papermania jewels, 21 cut using my Sizzix Block Party alphabet and a happy birthday peel off.

Happy Birthday Mum

My boss asked me to make him a card for his Mum's birthday, so no pressure then!!!! I used paper from Pink Petticoat down the left hand side of the cards and finished with a strip of black card. The flower is the Sizzix Thick Cut Daisy die which I have cut in black and glitter card and finished off with a gem. Added peel off sentiment to the bottom right hand corner.

Disney Princess Card

I was asked if I could do a special card with a Disney Princess theme for a little girl who is lucky enough to be spending her 6th birthday at Disney. Always a bit nervous when I'm asked to do a special card for someone incase they don't like it!!!

I decided to do a disney inspired princess using my Sizzix doll dies and I'm really pleased with how she has come out. So glad that I managed to get all the doll dies, as I have used them for a lot of character cards for kids and there really is so much you can do with them.

Birthday boy

My mum asked me to make a boys card for my cousin little boy. As they live in America and we don't see them, plus my mum can't remember exactly how old Colin is, I went with computer games. I'd seen a similar card in Cards Beautiful, so decided to go with that, as it's Monday and I always struggle on a Monday after a day back at work!!!!! Also gave me a chance to use this Sizzlit set, bought it as soon as it came out as I couldn't live without it, and this is it's first outing.
NB - just spoken to Mum and Colin is 10 (this should be OK) and like skateboarding!!!!! Let's hope he likes games when it's raining outside :o)

Another Bella

I just love this bella, she is great for girlie christmas cards. I embossed some blue card with my cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and added this to the left hand side. I mounted bella and a Curly Girly seniment from Pink Petticoat onto the same blue card and added to the right hand side. I then used my Sizzix to cut out the Let It Snow.

Just Bex Alternative Xmas Challenge

This is the first one for Bex's Friday night challenge. This weeks is to make 5 Xmas cards using none Xmas paper!!

First one I made by covering a square card with some blue check paper. I then used by Sizzix snowman & added the hearts & stars topped with buttons down the side. Finished off with a peel-off coloured blue. This was taken from an idea I'd seen in a Sizzix mag a couple of Christmases ago.

Handbags, handbags and more handmags

I was asked to make a card with handbags that wasn't too girlie in colour!!!! I decided to use the black and pink checked ribbon from DCWV and I thought using black would not make it too girlie. Nearly love pink and black as much as red and black now.

Was really lucky with the ribbons as I got them at the QVC outlet shop and they worked out less than £2 a pack instead of £5 in the craft shops. I love a bargain.

DCM Card Challenge

Well this is a first for me, as I have never dared do one of these challenges before!!!

This week I dare you to use a Word as the main focal point to your card. It can be a name, a greeting or just a word that inspires you. You can use other text but only one word as a main embellishment. So dig out your dictionaries, die cutters, alphabet stamps, rubons or download a funky font and show us what you can do! The design team have come up with some fabulous creations to inpsire you.

I needed to do a thank you card, so I decided to do it for the challenge on DCM. I used my sizzix paddle punch for the flowers and then used a bright pink insert and stuck light pink buttons in the centre of each flower. I then used my Sizzix Girls are Weird alphabet for the thanks and finished it with some ribbon tied around the seam of the card.
